Back In the Swing of Things

Derek is back to school for his last year of undergrad!! So excited and so happy for him. These past couple weeks we have just been getting back into the swing of things. Besides going to school he is still working and is playing on an ABA basketball team. Needless to say he is a busy guy! Darius and I squeeze in to see him whenever we can. He has a break between classes for about an hour and twenty minutes so we usually go pick him up and go grab some lunch or pack a picnic and eat it at the school. His basketball practices are on Tue and Thur evening and Darius and I like to go along. It gets us out of the house and I always enjoy watching Derek play! For now we have the weekends to spend together. I usually work on Saturday morning to mid afternoon which gives Darius his alone time with daddy and then the rest of the weekend is spent together as a family! November is when games start so Derek will have games every weekend until the first of March so I'm enjoying this while I have it. We will hopefully be able to go to some of the away games. I'm hoping at least one of the San Diego ones.

Darius has been enjoying playing with his birthday toys and is getting really good on his bike! It is still way too hot outside to play during the day. So we usually ride first thing in the morning or when the sun is starting to go down at night. He is so active and has so much energy he just can't wait to go outside and play. I am very much looking forward to it cooling off so we can go to the park and walks during the day! One more month HOPEFULLY!!!

Darius Turns 3 Take 2......

Darius turning 3 has been a whirlwind of emotions for me. Maybe it is in my head but all of the sudden he has this "I'm BIG" now thing going on. He always likes me to carry him from the bath to his room well on Monday (his birthday) he tells me "Mom I'm too big for you to hold me...." Ummmmm What? :) He is still a cuddle bug and a big mommy's boy. He is growing up so fast and I am trying to soak every bit of it up! He is so tender hearted and so caring. I am so thankful that I was blessed with him three years ago!!

Dariu's 3rd Birthday....Take 1

We had Darius's birthday party yesterday and it turned out to be quite the event! I usually stress about every little detail and make myself absolutely nuts so I told myself I wasn't going to do this...or so I thought! We had orginally planned the party and put on the invitations that we were doing it at a local park. I thought it would be easier and less stress to try to keep all of the doors closed where I didn't want anybody and just to have more room in general. Well Friday was 117 degrees and Saturday was supposed to be 114. I thought how miserable it would be to be sitting in a park at 114 degrees. So quick change up back to the house. I let everyone know of the change and everyone was very understanding and I think also relieved. I started all of the preperation Friday night. I made pasta salad, potato salad, fruit dip and fruit. We also had hot dog, hamburgers, nachos, and chips. So I was doing very good with just going with the flow and getting things set up. The party wasn't until 4 pm so I had some time to prepare rather then rush. I did good until we got the cake we had ordered from the store and when we got it home it had gotten smushed and all messed up. So that was the end of my calmness then the madness started. We had borrowed a big blow up waterslide from Natalie's mom. Which we had tried out earlier and it was a blast. But it was like a mad house when all of the kids came. Trying to keep them all under control on that thing was not easy let me tell you! Everyone ate, we did cake, Darius got to open his presents, and then we had a pinata. He had a blast and we all slept very good last night. Next year I think we will keep it simple..... :) We decided to do his gifts from us today because Derek starts school tomorrow morning and we didn't want to be rushing. He made a haul let me tell you what! He had so much fun opening and has been playing with them non stop!

Music and Movement

This month Darius has started going to a music and movement class. He loves going and socializing with the other kids his age. He has never been antisocial or shy and has always been outgoing but I have seen his desire to learn new things grow so much. He can sing his ABC's in his own little way and he loves talking about what he does in class. We have also started going to story time at the library here which he also really enjoys. He loves getting to check out new books each week and reading them before nap time and bed time! He is growing up so much and reallly just coming into his own little person. He is so tender hearted and such a sweetheart!

Trying Again

So I am going to try this blogging thing again. It has been quite a while since I have

posted anything but I am going to try to do this blogging thing again! If I did a post recapping everything since the last time I posted it would be the worlds largest post so I'm going to just start over and just go back and remember some of our adventures!

In May we went to San Diego. It was the first time I had ever been to the beach or California. It was so beautiful. We had a great time. It was a little cold while we were there but still went to the beach everyday and even got our feet wet! Darius thought it was so cool and has been talking about it ever since. We will definitely be going back again sometime.

In June we went up to Lovell to visit my family and to participate in the Lovells Days Celebration. It was SO much fun!! It came and went way too fast. Darius had a blast hauling anyone he wanted anywhere he wanted to go. Needless to say he had everyone wrapped around his little finger and he knew it!!!

My birthday was in July so we went and stayed at a resort. It was lots of funning swimming, shopping and going out for dinner. The swimming pool had a water slide that Darius loved. Right before we had to leave he was just getting the hang of going down all by himself!

So far August has been a pretty mellow month for us but it is Darius's birthday month!! We have a party planned for Saturday and his 3rd Birthday is Monday. I'm worn out on blogging already trying to catch up. So until next time.....

Busy Bee!

Well it has been a while since I last posted anything it seems like life has been so busy and so crazy. With Derek starting a new job, having his birthday, coaching a basketball team, playing in a basketball league and the sleepovers every weekend things have gotten crazy! First Derek has been coaching a team for the Upward league! It is a christian based basketball league and it is really neat. It is at the church where Derek personal trains at so he volunteered to coach. It has been so fun watching the boys learn and grow and become better! Derek has so much fun doing it and it is helping him with his patience too! :) With it being a Christian league it is neat because they do scriptures at every practice and have prayer before and after the game. I love being involved and it makes me excited for when Darius gets to be that big (but there is no rush though.) It has been a good way for me to meet some people and all of the players love Darius and he thinks he is as big as them and it is always a wrestling match to try keeping him from running onto the court! Derek also plays in a Christian based City League so we have been going to those games on the weekends too! That league ended this weekend and the one he coaches for ends next weekend. But don't worry I think he is already signed up for another league that will be starting soon! For Derek's 27th birthday we partied partied partied!!!!! We went on a double date with Jason (Dereks brother) and Natalie to Martin Lawrence! Derek loved that! He was really funny. That was the weekend before his birthday. The night of his birthday I made him dinner crab leg, in & out potatos, salad, and asparagus. His mom, me, Darius, Kc and Jazz all celebrated that night with him. Then last weekend we had a big bbq at our house for all the family and friends! So he got pretty spoiled this year but it was so much fun!!!

We have an extra kid pretty much every weekend, but this past weekend we had 3! Jasmine usually stays with us on the weekends but her brother and cousin Jason came this weekend! There was a big thunderstorm last night with one bolt of lighting hitting really close to our house and the thunder shaking the house it scared us all half to death!!!! Darius always loves when the kids come over! It gives him someone else to play with other than plain old mom and dad!!! This week is the week I have been waiting for ever since we got home from Christmas! It is girls weekend! Stace and Keela are coming down for the weekend so I am so excited!!!! It will be nice to have them here for a little while and I am going to do my best at talking them into moving here!!! :) So I'm sure my next post will be all about how much fun we had! Well I suppose I should be going. I didn't take any pictures of Dereks birthday because I was so busy cooking, cleaning and chasing my child. O well! Next year!! I will post some of his baby pictures he was such a cute lil boy!!!

Reminiscing

Ok so for the past week or so I have been reminiscing about past events or memories and I love doing that. I have downloaded a bunch of songs that used to be popular and because Kara posted the My Childhood bulletin on myspace I have been having fun remembering all of the fun/crazy things we did as kids and just wanted to post some. I know we all remember and recolect things differently so this is just my prospective I guess.

*I remember I was so scared of animals but didn't want to be. I wouldn't go outside if there was birds on the lawn. Well our across the street neighbors when we lived on 6th street were the Snells. I talked there daughter into taking a removable purse strap and tying it around a stray cats neck so I could walk it. I was too scared to touch it. HAHAHAHA I wanted to walk a cat. Well Ashley succeeded and got the strap around it's neck but then the cat got away. Well needless to say my mom was not impressed and was afraid that the cat would hang itself, so she had to chase the cat down and get the strap off of him. I can't stop laughing remembering that.

* My dad took Bethany into the beauty salon in Billings to get her hair cut and she watched very intently apparantly. The next day (or something like that) Beth was supposed to be taking a nap but she was sneaky. While my dad was home for lunch she snuck into the kitchen and found some scissors took them back to her room and chopped her hair off (almost bald on top.) When my mom came in to check on her she found Beth sitting in a pile of her own hair with the scissors. Beth tried to explain that she just wanted to do it like the lady at the salon. Well Beth wore hats for about the next year and got mistaken for a boy often.

* I don't remember how old I was but I think we still had the white car so I must have been pretty little. Well my dad took me, kara, and my cousins Michael and Tiffany to the hyart to watch a movie. I don't remember what the movie was I just remember I was scarfing popcorn down like nobodys business. My dad or kara or Tiffany I don't remember kept telling me to stop eating it and that I was going to get sick but of course being hard headed I didn't listen. Well all was fine until we got up to Mike and Tiffs house in Cowley. I just remember opening the door but still puking in the car and if my memory serves me correctly it was A LOT. Once again my dad and mom were not impressed

* We used to play Rose Queen all of the time in the summer. We had a patio and a built in counter that ran across the back of our house. We would but the picnic table to make like a walkway and we would get into my moms old dresses and play Rose Queen. My mom even made us sashes. Well since Beth was the youngest she always got the privelage of being the 2nd attendant. Although I remember Kara being the Queen most of the time I think I made sure I was it a coupld times too.

* We used to love to make up dances and I was always making up crazy games and telling jokes that made absolutely no sense. My dad had to go to Kalispell, Mt when he first got his computer for the Drug Store and I don't remember how long he was gone but I know not longer then a couple days. Kara and I were so tore up about it that we would stay up at night and cry and just want him to come home. One night we made up a song and although I don't remember the whole thing I remember it was raining and it started out "Rainnnnnnnnnnnn tappin on my window painnnnnn." LOL

*We used to count how long before the babysitter would come by how many Brady Bunches we had to watch. And Carly Graves was one of my favorite babysitters. One time I was playing with her long dark hair, and got a round brush stuck in it sooooo bad. She had to call her mom to come get it out. I loved that she would play the piano so we could sing primary songs. And I loved to wake up in the morning and find the treat my parents would bring us home from their date. Usually Starbursts for me and Reeses for Kara.

*When we first got our trampoline Kara and I were trying to set a record and stay on it for the longest anyone ever had. We wanted to make into the worlds book of records. Well after probably about an hour our rules started to change. It started out we had to both stay on it the whole time, then it changed to we could get off one at a time as long as one of us was on the tramp all of the time, eventually we both got tired of being on the tramp and gave up.

I know there are many more but I am tired of thinking and typing and should probably do something more productive then sitting here blogging, facebooking, and myspacing. I wish I had some old pictures to post of us when we were kids but they are all at my moms house in Lovell.

Memory Lane

So I decided it was time to get started on Darius's scrapbook. I am already behind and figured I should start now while he is still a baby and so it won't seem like such an overwhelming thing when he gets older. I love scrapbooking (although I hate the mess it makes and I usually end up spending way too much money on it). First I spent all day yesterday trying to find all of the pictures from when he was first born. I had some in email, some on our old camera, some on our new camera, and some on a camera that either got lost or stolen. Needless to say I didn't print them all because that would have cost a fortune but I got enough to get started. It was so fun going back through the pictures of when he was first born and it gave me that same excited feeling. A feeling I can't even explain the first time I saw him. He was such a cuddely little baby which he has already grown out of and now sticks his hand out when I try to give him a hug. He was/is such a happy little baby. I just remember the look on Dereks face when he was born and the first time that he held his first born son it was priceless and something I don't think I will ever forget. He brings so much joy into our family and I don't know what life was like before him. I am so thankful to my father in heaven that I am so blessed to have such a wonderful sond

Trip Home

We went to Wyoming this past week for a visit and it was awesome! It was Emilee's 13th birthday/new years eve. Emilee is quite the guitar player and she got a brand new guitar for her birthday. We got a concert while we were there and will be expecting many more to come. I finally got to meet the newest addition to our family Dallin Lee Bischoff. He is such a good sweet baby. Darius was not too impressed with him at first then he warmed up and wouldn't stop hugging him and trying to hold him. Katelyn and Jake were great at entertaining Darius and it was fun because he could finally hang out with them and keep up. They were still thinking of how he was when we left. We mostly just hung out and were lazy with the family. It was so much fun and felt like I never left. It was hard to leave but it always feels nice to get home and get back to normal life. O yeah and did I mention that it is 70 degrees outside and gorgeous!

Finally Giving In!

Well I am finally giving in to my sister and my mothers prodding to get a blog. I don't know if I will write as often or diligently as Kara but I will try. I am new to all of this so it may take me a while to figure everything out. When Kara told me Katelyn, my 6 year old niece asked to get a blog I figured I better get in the loop. We came to Wyo to visit for a week and have been having a great time. It is definitely going to be hard to leave. It was my baby sister Emilee's birthday on the 31st but she isn't really a baby anymore. She is the youngest though and definitely still gets treated as one. Well I guess this is all for now I will be back soon! :) Hope you're happy Kar! ;)
